Advanced Program

The Advance level is the senior programming level.

There is only one class for this level and for students who have attained the Age of 14 years and above. Topics covered at this level are for advanced Igbo language learners.

The Advanced program is broken into 3 trimesters per academic year.

Each trimester will have lessons, assignments, and tests.

Entry requirements

There is no direct entry into the Advanced program for new students. A prospective student will need to graduate from the Intermediate program to gain entry into the Advanced program.

1 Year school term

The program is made up of a 2 unit credit load that occurs every Saturday for 3 months per trimester, in the academic year.

Saturdays 1pm - 3pm

The Edmonton Igbo School is currently operating online and meets every Saturday for 2 hours from 1pm to 3pm.

Diploma

A Final Diploma in Igbo Language, People and Culture is awarded to students who have successfully completed all three-year academic programs and have attained a 60% competence in each skill i.e., Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing of the Igbo Language as well as familiarity with the Customs and Traditions of the Igbo People.

A final examination will be conducted at the end of this academic level with a minimum cutoff of 60% required to receive a diploma.
